First virtual European Sales Competition
The European Sales Competition (ESC) was organised by the University of Applied Sciences Wiener Neustadt for the first time online in December 2020. Such a competition represents a great chance for students to develop their sales skills further. During the competition, participants were getting the chance to simulate international sales conversations with representatives from the corporate world. The ESC 2020 counted the highest number of participants ever. In total up to 200 people registered on the online platform of the event. 55 Students from 25 different Universities from 12 different countries competed in the ESC 2020. In addition to 40 competitors from Europe, 6 students from the USA and 9 students from Asian partner universities from the SEASAC project participated as guest students.
Anna-Maria Klimmek from the University Aalen won the ESC 2020 followed by Melanie Hense from the University of Applied Sciences Wiener Neustadt. Sarah Mennens from the University of Aalborg achieved the 3rd place.
The competition was further developed to an international event for experts in the area of B2B Sales Management. In total 10 key note speeches about Digitalisation in Sales and Sales psychology and Sales in 2030 were scheduled during the event. Up to 90 guests visited these key note speeches.
Salesforce, Gartner and Palo Alto Networks acted as main sponsors of the competition. Representatives from these companies were attending in the event in several roles (as buyers in role plays, as members of the jury, as observers). Additionally, students got the chance to schedule job interviews with these companies.
The European Sales Competition 2021 will be organised by the University of Applied Sciences Turku (TUAS).
